ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE SURREY – LANGLEY SKYTRAIN LINE

The TransLink Mayors council met last week and voted to complete the business plan that will eventually bring SkyTrain down Fraser Highway, linking the community of Surrey to downtown Langley City.

Currently there is funding of 1.6 billion dollars that will bring the SkyTrain as far as Fleetwood with 4 stations. A total of 3.12 billion will be needed to expand the line further to Langley centre.

The line is projected to be complete by 2035 and could potentially handle 62,000 passengers per day.

LANGLEY TOWNSHIP TREE BYLAW NOW IN EFFECT

Langley Council approved a new bylaw on Monday July 8th that aims to protect trees in the community of Langley.

The new regulations mean property owners who want to remove a tree from their property must apply for a permit from the City. The fee for each tree cut down is $100 however there are a few exceptions such as farmland and new construction.

Applications for tree removal must be made to the Township, see below for more information.

2018 – Off To A Flying Start!!

This year got off to an incredible start and there is certainly no slow down since the ‘Spring Market’ arrived.

Townhomes and condos continue to dominate the market with a huge rise in sales, as single family homes rise at a steadier pace.

Townhomes – March 2018 saw a benchmark price of $541,800 which was an increase of 24.9% compared to March 2017.

Condos  – March 2018 saw a benchmark price of $440,000 which was increase of 48% compared to March 2017.

Single Family Detached – March 2018 saw a benchmark price of $1,001,400 which was an increase of 15.2% compared to March 2017. Continue reading…
