Salmon River is a rural part of the Township of Langley, named for the river that winds through it on its way to the Fraser at Fort Langley. Much of it is the Salmon River Uplands, a well-treed area of acreages and country homes laced with creeks and wildlife corridors. The river still supports coho, and in the fall you can watch salmon spawn at Williams Park.

Everyday shopping is in nearby Murrayville, Langley Memorial Hospital is close by on Fraser Highway, and the village of Fort Langley is a short drive north.

Estate homes, hobby farms and a few condos

Most of Salmon River is acreage: custom estate homes, older ranchers on an acre or more, hobby farms and equestrian properties with barns and shops. Lot sizes vary widely, and some properties are in the Agricultural Land Reserve while others are not, which affects what you can build or subdivide. Many rural homes rely on a well and septic system, so check servicing early.

• Peterson Road Elementary (K to 7) and D.W. Poppy Secondary (grades 8 to 12), both in the area
• Highway 1 at 232 Street, and the future Langley City Centre SkyTrain station at 203 Street, expected to open in late 2029
