A small town with its own centre

Aldergrove is the eastern community of the Township of Langley, next to the Abbotsford border, with its town centre around Fraser Highway and 272 Street. It has a true small-town feel, with shops and services along Fraser Highway and farmland on every side.

The town centre is slowly changing, with new homes and storefronts going up on the former Aldergrove Mall site. Families spend a lot of time at the community centre pools and in Aldergrove Regional Park, and Aldergrove Fair Days has been a summer tradition for more than a century.

More room, in town or just outside

In town, you will find detached family homes, many on good-sized lots, along with townhomes and condos. Some houses have suites, and the core is planned for more apartment buildings over time.

Just outside town, the choice shifts to acreages and hobby farms. Much of that land is in the Agricultural Land Reserve, and many rural homes use private wells and septic, so zoning and water deserve a close look. Pools, parks and easy border access

• Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre on Fraser Highway, with an outdoor pool open all year, an arena, and the Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience water park in summer
• Aldergrove Regional Park, with forest and creekside trails, routes for riders and cyclists, and an off-leash area for dogs
• The bike park and pump track at Aldergrove Athletic Park
• Greater Vancouver Zoo on 264 Street, a family favourite close to home
• Highway 1 at 264 Street, where the interchange is being rebuilt as part of the provincial Highway 1 widening, plus the Lynden-Aldergrove border crossing
• The 503 bus along Fraser Highway to Langley City and Surrey Central SkyTrain
